We were called by a customer in Manchester who was moving house. The family had a Swim spa and hot tub in the rear garden which both needed moving to the new property on the same day. We arranged for a local crane company to do a full site survey at both addresses and arranged a contract lift. We arrived at the collection property just after the crane so they could get the machine in place and set up. First we did a test run with the hot tub straight onto our spa dolly trailer and strapped it on. The swim spa had a small wall built around it making it harder to get our spa jacks under it. We got both jack plates under the spa and lifted one end to get our blocks under. We could then put the straps under the tub for lifting. We craned the swim spa over the customers house and straight onto our long trailer resting on blocks which makes it very easy to get the straps out. We then strapped the swim spa to the trailer, packed up and set off to the new property with the crane following. We arrived at the new property and set to crane up in place to the drawings. We then lifted the hot tub onto the patio area and the swim spa to its temporary spot in the garden. The customer is planning to sink the swim spa and then deck around it when they settle in. All in all a very smooth and successful job from start to finish. The customer was extremely happy with our service

With so many hot tub moving companies around, who do you trust?
Are they actually fully insured? Are they Experienced? Do they have the correct equipment? Are they a registered company? Everyone is looking to save money, especially when purchasing an expensive hot tub. Hot Tub moving is expensive and dangerous and needs to be left to professionals. Companies providing cheap removal quotes are unlikely to have correct insurance in place if anything were to happen. Goods in transit and Hire and Reward insurance is needed to legally transport customers hot tubs. Without this an insurance company would not pay out in event of an accident. Many hot tub moving companies are using flatbed vans which risk damaging tubs when loading and unloading due to the height of the vans body, and the weight of some tubs. These vans also have no additional room for any moving equipment or hot tub cover/steps to be stowed. This results in these items having to be strapped down to the van which can cause damage especially to hot tub covers. Some companies have no website, van signage or uniform and are not registered limited companies. They will turn up in a rusty van with no equipment. When air lifting a hot tub, only large cranes/hiabs should be used. Hot tubs are extremely heavy so need correct machines to safely lift over fences, walls and houses. These machines are extremely expensive and require special crane insurance so hire from an established crane company is the only safe solution. When it comes to hot tub movers, cheap is definitely not cheerful. Hot tubs can be worth in excess of £20000 so only book trusted companies to move them. Check the websites and reputation before booking and look out for scammers and fake companies looking for a free hot tub! |
